Today, there are an estimated 1.6 billion Muslims, constituting 24% of the world’s population. Within this group there is a potentially enormous—but as yet untapped—resource base on which philanthropies can build new initiatives to advance social justice. WCMP has developed a strategic framework for responding to this opportunity, identifying critical areas for strengthening Muslim philanthropy.

WCMP’s agenda includes hosting an annual conference and donor roundtables; facilitating giving networks; establishing a philanthropic academy; offering consulting and operational assistance; promoting research and dissemination of knowledge; and creating an information-sharing mechanism that will inform grant-makers about the operation, structure, and standing of potential grantees. In pursuit of this agenda, WCMP is building a collaborative network of individuals and institutions that are enthusiastically committed to build a better world.
