1) What is the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists (WCMP)?
The World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists (WCMP) is an initiative, which provides knowledge, resources and networking opportunities to people who have the will to make a difference. WCMP works in partnership with the global community of humanitarians and charitable entities to mobilize financial and human resources to advance the common good. WCMP believes that ethical, accountable, effective and inclusive philanthropy is vital for a peaceful, equitable and sustainable world. The Strategic Framework of WCMP encompasses the following:

  • Annual International Conference “World Congress”
  • Quarterly Publication “Muslim Philanthropist”
  • Consulting and Training
  • Worldwide Charity Rating System securegiving.org
  • Giving Networks
  • Academy of Philanthropy
  • Research & Analysis

2) Is there any political or religious affiliation of WCMP?
World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists (WCMP) should not be tied or associated with any creed, dogma, political group or stance. The use of the term Muslim here is for the purpose of delineation by demographic and culture and for the participants themselves to determine their relevance to whatever denomination or political affiliation they so choose.

Further, it should be stated that WCMP is for the benefit of all humanity. By benefiting any subset of humanity, we strengthen the social ties between that group and other groups with similar objectives. The new bond then is a by-product of the original goal of strengthening charitable organizations who wish to work alongside one another for the benefit of better efficiency, better logistics, better effectiveness, and for stretching the budget of giving.
